The corrision protected gas cartridge is situated inside the buoyancy ballon.
If the hydrostatic release mechanism reaches a depth of at least 10 cm in the water, the pressure valve lets the water enter to the water sensitive element. This then allows the stainless steel spring to be released.
The activated stainless steel spring pushes the activating spur into the bottom of the gas cartridge and the gas flows directly into the buoyancy balloon. The vest is inflated in approx. 3-4 sec.
